This torah portion deals with two major events: the successful negotiation for a burial plot for Abraham's family at the cave of Machpelah where Abraham buries Sara and Abraham's search for a suitable wife for his son. He sends his faithful servant Eliezar to look for a wife among his relatives who live some distance from Canaan. Eliezar finds Rebecca, a relative of Nahor, Abraham's brother.

The left tallit band shows Abraham buying a burial plot for Sara, and Eliezar watching Rebecca water his camels.

The right tallit band shows the meeting of Isaac and Rebecca.
The quote from the bible translates:
(Genesis, Chai Sara, Chapter 24 verse 67)
"and Isaac came… and took Rebecca and she became his wife".
